Dinghy Dock Restaurant (Dewey)

18° 18.1′ N · 65° 18.0′ W

The cruisers' living room on Ensenada Honda: a waterfront bar and barbecue restaurant with its own dinghy landing, where big tarpon cruise under the deck waiting for scraps at feeding time.

Practical

Position: OpenStreetMap 'Dinghy Dock Bar-B-Q Restaurant' (node 3403050544), beside the canal bridge on the Ensenada Honda side. Wikivoyage: casual, popular with expats; arrive around 4:30 pm to watch the tarpon being fed off the dock. The Virgintino guide (about 2015) calls it the place to take in the local flavor. Still operating per Caribbean Journal (September 2025: 'an island institution', fresh fish and conch fritters) and the culebraisland.com food guide (2026), which lists phone (787) 742-0233 and a busy bar for Medalla and rum punch at sunset. Hours not published (its old website is now a parked domain): check locally. Customers land at the restaurant's own dock; see 'Ensenada Honda dinghy landings (Dewey)'.
