Satun Customs, Immigration and Harbour Department
6° 31.1′ N · 100° 5.6′ E · approximate
Satun is a full port of entry with police, customs, harbour department and immigration — the alternative to Koh Lipe for clearing in or out, and open beyond the Lipe ferry season.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot: officials on site at Satun include police, customs, harbour department and immigration; Noonsite lists Satun as a port of entry. Position approximate: the Pilot's Satun waypoint at the channel entrance, since no office coordinates were found; the offices are reached via the government jetty upriver. Noonsite cruiser reports: get a letter from the shipyard if you are in Satun for repairs before clearing with Customs to avoid an 800 THB fee (2018); avoid weekends and holidays, when Customs charged 1,000 THB against 200 THB on weekdays (2018); and clear out with the Harbour Master in Satun before heading north (2019). Fees are old: verify locally.
