Phithak Shipyard and Service (PSS), Satun

6° 39.4′ N · 99° 58.3′ E

A bare-bones rail-slip yard near Satun that mainly services Thai and Malaysian fishing boats but also hauls yachts, with yacht cradles for fin keels and competitive prices.

Practical

Position: OpenStreetMap 'PHITHAK Shipyard and Service' (website pss-satun.com). Noonsite cruiser reports (2017-2019): haul-out is by a rail system that can be jerky; the river shallows at the mouth, so hauling and launching are limited to suitable tides (one crew waited 10 days to relaunch); most cruisers rent a room across the road; quality varies between worker grades, so agree what you need. Get a yard letter before clearing with Customs to avoid an 800 THB fee. Reports are 2017-2019: check current status before committing.
