Racha Yai East (Ter Bay) Anchorage
7° 36.3′ N · 98° 22.6′ E
The east-coast bay of Racha Yai, sheltered from the SW monsoon in all but the strongest conditions, with two small beaches and buoyed dive wrecks just offshore.
Practical
10-20 m on broken coral and sand; a few day-dive moorings, mostly too shallow for keelboats; currents are strong at times (SEAP). From the floating jetty an easy 20-minute walk through coconut plantations leads to the north and west beaches; Ban Raya Resort is about 500 m south of the jetty.
Best for
SW-monsoon overnight shelter and wreck diving
Season
May-Oct (SW monsoon); usable year-round
