Pinnacle Beach Anchorage, Koh Phaluai
9° 33.3′ N · 99° 41.4′ E · approximate
A white-sand beach on the north coast of Koh Phaluai, the park's largest island, entered past a 20 m pinnacle rock: sheltered from the south and west, empty after dark and ideal for a barbecue on board.
Practical
Island Spirit charter guide (2023): head in past the 20 m high pinnacle rock and anchor in 3 m off the white sandy beach; well sheltered from the south and west. Ashore you may find giant monitor lizard tracks. The same guide says Koh Phaluai's whole east coast is a bird's-nest concession where no anchoring is allowed, and advises leaving the west-coast village bays alone. Position is derived about 250 m north of the northernmost point of the OSM Koh Phaluai outline (way 24056761, 9.5534, 99.6895), not surveyed: identify the pinnacle and sound in. Open to the north and northeast, so leave if NE winds set in. Ko Phaluai is about 5 nm south of park HQ.
Best for
An overnight under the stars in SW-monsoon weather
Season
