Koh Rang Nok Bird-Nest Cave
8° 3.0′ N · 98° 38.5′ E · approximate
A small island whose cave and cliffside dwelling under the northeast rock wall house the guardians of edible swiftlet nests, a valuable harvest. Landing is forbidden.
Practical
Position approximate: derived from the Southeast Asia Pilot's description of the island as about 3 nm southeast of the Chong Koh Yao anchorage (08°5.155N 98°36.402E); confirm on the chart. Many signs warn against landing, and the Pilot strongly advises heeding them, because nest concessions are guarded. View it from the water only.
