Koh Nok Stop-over Anchorage

8° 4.7′ N · 98° 37.4′ E

A handy stop tucked behind small islets and rocks off the southeast tip of Koh Yao Noi, with a sand spit, good swimming and a steep scramble to a summit view.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 08°4.669N 98°37.422E, about 25 nm from Yacht Haven. Limited protection in the NE monsoon. A sandy spit runs west toward rocks in shallow water. The current can run hard about three hours into the ebb, so watch swimmers. The steep path to the top has a rope handrail on the near-vertical section. A good staging stop between Phuket and the Koh Hong (Krabi) group or Krabi.

Best for

Lunch or overnight stop en route to or from Krabi
