Koh Phetra East Anchorage

7° 1.7′ N · 99° 28.7′ E

A narrow limestone ridge of jungle-fringed cliffs, caves and overhangs, one of the region's main bird's-nest collection islands.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot (35 nm from Koh Lanta lighthouse): anchor near the SE bay in 8-10 m. Give Hin Raya, visible to the east, a wide berth. The nest caves are guarded concessions (Wikipedia): stay off the cliffs and out of the caves, and visit with a local operator if you want to go ashore. Part of Mu Ko Phetra National Park.

Wild limestone scenery on the run south to Satun
