A sandy bay just south of Kata, dominated by the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort, with clear blue water in the high season and Karon Viewpoint on the ridge above.
Practical
8-10 m on sand off the beach (SEAP). Beachfront dining is only inside the resorts; small restaurants and shops are behind the beach, and a road leads to Kata and Karon with a branch south to Nai Harn. Phuket City is about 45 minutes by road. The north end gets beginner surf in the low season, and swimming is not recommended then (Phuket 101).
