Karon Beach Anchorage
7° 51.0′ N · 98° 17.3′ E
A 2-mile sandy beach backed by salt ponds, dunes and a heavily developed beach road, whose high-rise hotels are visible far offshore. Anchor off Karon Circle for the easiest access ashore.
Practical
6-10 m on sand along the whole beach; SEAP calls it a protected anchorage in season. Phuket Town is about 40 minutes by tuk-tuk. In the SW monsoon the beach takes heavy surf and strong rip currents (Wikivoyage warns of drownings on west-coast beaches in the monsoon).
Best for
An easy NE-season stop with all services ashore
