Bang Tao Bay Anchorage (Laguna)

A 4-mile beach in front of the Laguna Phuket resort complex, with a new strip of upmarket beach clubs and restaurants, shopping inland, and an easy crew pick-up point 40 minutes from the airport.
Practical
6-8 m on sand anywhere in front of the hotels; the recommended spot is off the beach clubs between the Sunwing and Saii resorts (SEAP). Free resort shuttles run to all Laguna hotels. Heavy road and beach congestion in the high season. Approaching from the south, a large rock lies about 150 m off the headland with 10 m all round; give the headland a wide berth at high water. Koh Waeo and its rocks, about a mile off the north end, give the best snorkelling on this coast.
