Ao Ta Lo Lang Cha Anchorage (Koh Adang North-East)

6° 33.9′ N · 99° 18.5′ E · approximate

A small indented bay at Koh Adang's north-east corner, facing Koh Bitsi (Ko Lek) across the channel — a quiet alternative to Bitsi when the swell is right.

Practical

Position: the OpenStreetMap label for Ao Ta Lo Lang Cha bay (in the water, about 250 m off the beach). No guide gives depths for the bay itself; the Southeast Asia Pilot's nearest anchorage is Koh Bitsi (Ko Lek) about 4 km east, where it reports good holding close to shore on whichever side suits the season and ground swell. Sound in, anchor on sand only and keep clear of the fringing reef. Open to the north and north-east. Wikivoyage places the two Urak Lawoi villages (Ao Talo Puya and Ao Talo Cengan) on this north-east coast: see Ao Talo Puya Sea Gypsy Village. Park fee and the Adang–Rawi seasonal closure apply (see those entries).
