Victoria Port Control (VHF 12) Arrival and Departure Procedure
4° 37.5′ S · 55° 27.7′ E
Port Control at the Seychelles Ports Authority runs all traffic in and out of Port Victoria, and every yacht, visiting or chartered, reports to it by radio when entering or leaving the Victoria channel.
Practical
Position is the Seychelles Ports Authority office on Latanier Road (OpenStreetMap node). Port Control monitors VHF 12 for visiting yachts (Noonsite); VHF 16 is for distress and is monitored by Seychelles Radio and the Coast Guard. Call at least two hours before arrival and again on reaching the quarantine anchorage so boarding is not delayed (hackingfamily.com). Charter skippers must call VHF 12 when leaving and entering the Victoria channel to report their planned heading (The Moorings eGuide, 2026). Within 24 hours of arrival (excluding weekends and public holidays) the master must report to the Port Authority Accounts Department at Mahé Quay, file the Report of Arrival, a crew list and the Certificate of Registry; access is via the Port Security Gate on Latanier Road. For moves to other islands, foreign yachts need a Local Port Clearance and must notify Port Control. Moorings' guide gives the harbour master's office in the main harbour as +248 22 47 01. Coast Guard: +248 422 5812.
