Victoria Fishing Port
4° 37.4′ S · 55° 27.5′ E
The busy fishing harbour on Long Pier Road beside the Seychelles Fishing Authority, home port of the tuna fleet that makes Victoria one of the Indian Ocean's big fishing hubs.
Practical
Position from OpenStreetMap (Victoria Fishing Port node, next to the SFA). Wikipedia notes tuna fishing and canning are a major industry in the inner harbour. For buying fish, the reliable outlet is the fish hall of the central market; cruisers bought diesel from the fishing wall on the right as you enter the yacht basin, which is deep enough for most yachts to lie alongside (hackingfamily.com, 2009). Expect working-boat traffic and wash.
Best for
Watching the fleet; fuel off the fishing wall
