The banks and granite drop-offs around Mahé hold marlin, sailfish, wahoo, bonito, dogtooth tuna and yellowfin jacks; game fishing is excellent year-round and best done from a proper sport-fishing boat.

The Moorings eGuide says fishing is excellent all year, recommends medium to heavy tackle, rents gear at the Eden Island base and will arrange a game-fishing trip. Big Blue Divers' site list records marlin, sailfish, wahoo and bonito over Shark Bank, Lo Bordaz, Bekin Bank and Site en Ler. Fishing trips are also sold on Beau Vallon and Port Launay beaches.
