Beau Vallon Beach

4° 36.7′ S · 55° 25.6′ E

Arguably the most famous beach in the Seychelles: one of the longest stretches of sand on Mahé, shallow and clear, with sunset views over Silhouette and every watersport on offer.

Practical

Often a lifeguard on duty. Rentals for snorkelling, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba, fishing trips, jet-skis and sailing along the beach. Beach shade under trees; buses stop on the road behind. Swimming zones are buoyed: keep the dinghy outside them and land where there is no one bathing. Moorings eGuide warns of waves at the dinghy landing. Hacking family noted jellyfish on occasion.

Best for

Swimming, people-watching and sunset drinks
