Southeast Trades Season (May-Nov)
4° 37.4′ S · 55° 27.2′ E · approximate
From May to November the southeast trades blow dry and steady day and night, peaking in July and August; the classic season for the reach to Praslin, but a lee shore on Mahé's north coast and a bumpy quarantine anchorage.
Practical
Approximate: pinned at Victoria as a regional marker. Average 15-25 knots, occasional gusts over 30 knots in trade-wind surges (The Moorings). Seaweed on southeast-coast beaches June-September. Choose NW-facing anchorages: in the park, Anse Cabot on Ste Anne's north side; Anse Royale is not an overnight anchorage in the SE. Seychelles lies outside the cyclone belt (Eden Island Marina).
