Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market (Victoria Market)
4° 37.3′ S · 55° 27.1′ E
Victoria's 1840 Victorian-style market hall, the place for fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, spices and chillies, with souvenir stalls upstairs and the busiest scene on Saturday mornings.
Practical
Coordinates from Wikipedia. Open Monday to Friday until late afternoon, busiest on Saturday, usually closed Sunday. As of March 2025 the building was under renovation and the market had moved temporarily to the former STC Supermarket in Victoria; check which site is open. Cruisers found good fresh produce, fish and meat and say bargaining is worth a try (hackingfamily.com). Everything else is imported and expensive, so compare prices between supermarkets.
Best for
Fresh fish, fruit and spices
