Landmark· Mahé (south coast)· Seychelles
Police Bay (No Swimming)
4° 48.2′ S · 55° 31.3′ E
The wild beach at Mahé's southern tip where deep, choppy water and a dramatic shoreline of old coral and granite make swimming unsafe; a place to look, not to swim.
Practical
Seyvillas: unsuitable for swimming due to deep, choppy water despite an offshore reef; neighbouring Petite Police is similar. The Moorings eGuide warns that beaches at the southern tip are not recommended for swimming at any time. Infrequent bus to Anse Bazarca; parking at Petite Police. Surfers and photographers love it. No anchorage.
Best for
A dramatic viewpoint at the end of the road
