Anse Intendance
4° 47.1′ S · 55° 29.9′ E
A wild, 1.2 km arc of white sand framed by granite with no outer reef, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles, and an important hawksbill turtle nesting beach.
Practical
No reef, so the water deepens quickly and big waves hit the beach in the SE trades (May-September), making swimming dangerous; locals surf it. Watch for falling coconuts. Small beach bar; bus stop and parking. Hawksbill nesting season roughly 1 September to 31 March; the Marine Conservation Society Seychelles proposed it as a seasonal protected area in 2021. Not an anchorage (see the 'Anse Intendance (No Anchoring: Surf Beach)' hazard entry).
