Farquhar Reef Grouper Aggregations

10° 6.3′ S · 51° 9.0′ E · approximate

Seychelles Fishing Authority studies found some grouper three times more abundant than in the north Amirantes and Napoleon wrasse at possibly the highest density in the world, with spawning aggregations of thousands of camouflage and brown-marbled grouper at the reef edge at certain times of year.

Practical

No dive operator is based here; divers need their own fully self-sufficient set-up and IDC permission. Very remote: no chamber, and medical evacuation is by air only in daylight. Coordinate is approximate: outer reef off the NW of the atoll.
