Refuge Cove Marina (West Redonda Island)

50° 7.4′ N · 124° 50.4′ W · approximate

A tiny settlement on the south-west tip of West Redonda Island, and the main summer supply stop inside Desolation Sound. The floats carry fuel, water and a general store, so most boats call here every few days.

Practical

Position is approximate, on the floats just west of the store. About 2,000 ft (610 m) of side-tie guest dock, first come, first served; no reservations. A floating overflow dock beside the fuel dock has no power or water. 15 amp power. Free purified water. Fuel dock with gasoline, diesel and propane. Busiest from about 11 am to 3 pm; come early morning or late afternoon. Showers, washrooms and laundry up by the store. A garbage barge moors near the cove mouth from about mid-June and takes bagged garbage for a fee by weight. Open to the south-west. Most services run about June to September; in the off-season the store and fuel dock have opened only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, about 1 pm to 3 pm. We could not confirm 2026 dates or the VHF channel. Anchoring is possible toward the head of the bay.
