Grace Harbour (Desolation Sound Marine Park)
50° 2.9′ N · 124° 44.9′ W
A nearly landlocked, forest-ringed bay on the north side of Malaspina Inlet. It is one of the best-sheltered anchorages in the park and the usual first stop for boats coming in from Lund or Okeover. A trail leads up to a small lake for a freshwater swim.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay point. Room for quite a few boats in the inner bay, many along the shore, so be ready to stern-tie; BC Marine Parks Forever has fitted shore pins here. A charted rock sits in the middle of the innermost bay: anchors can skid on it, so set on the far side of it or leave that spot empty. Excellent shelter from all directions. BC Parks has pit toilets, three tent pads, an information shelter and a hiking shelter ashore; creek water must be treated. Fire pit noted at the north end, but BC Parks bans all campfires in the park. No discharge of sewage. No services; nearest fuel and water are at Lund or Okeover.
Best for
