Galley Bay (Desolation Sound)
50° 4.3′ N · 124° 47.2′ W
A wide bay on the south shore of Desolation Sound, just east of Zephine Head and close to the Malaspina Inlet entrance. It is an easy stop with a view across to the mountains, used by cruisers and kayakers.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay point. Listed by Canadian Boating among the area's anchorages for cruising boats and kayak landings. We could not confirm depths, holding or land ownership ashore from a current source; check chart 3538 or 3312 and do not land on private property. The bay faces north, so it suits settled weather and southerly winds. Desolation Sound Marine Park rules apply in park waters: no sewage discharge and no fires.
Best for
A lunch stop or settled-weather night near Malaspina Inlet
Season
May-Sep in settled weather
