Halsey Bay Anchorage (South Culion)

11° 43.8′ N · 119° 57.9′ E · approximate

A big, branching bay on southern Culion with several anchorages, almost a typhoon hole, plus streams and mangroves for dinghy exploring.

Practical

Hackingfamily lists 1 43.82N 119 57.95E, an obvious typo for 11 43.82N (corrected here, so marked approx; Hackingfamily itself flags the coordinate). Depth 35 ft (11 m) mud; no cell coverage. Several anchorages down the southern leg and the northern leg; you could also anchor off the town. No real approach hazards but reefs stick out from the sides. Very well protected and big enough for several boats. A stream to the south leads to a picnic spot and a 'waterfall' that was dry in May. Halsey Harbor and Halsey village are mapped in OpenStreetMap to the north (11.773N 119.972E and 11.775N 120.002E).
