Noonsite: Danao has more variety than Carmen; Gaisano Capitol supermarket is opposite the bus station and stocks some Australian and Chilean wines. Carmen's own public market has fresh fruit and vegetables, chicken, pork, eggs and rice, and there are bakeries in town. The Allied Bank ATM was the only one that worked for one cruiser (2011) and queues wrap round the block on Fridays. The Food supermarket in Consolacion, on the highway towards Cebu, is reported as a good western-style supermarket. Danao is known for its gun-making industry.
