Cebu Yacht Club Anchorage

10° 19.7′ N · 123° 58.4′ E

The cruiser anchorage in the Mactan Channel either side of the Cebu Yacht Club breakwater - not pretty, but it puts you a dinghy ride from the airport, malls, sailmaker and chandlers.

Practical

Arnak (2012): 10°19.73'N 123°58.42'E, 9 m mud, rolly with passing ferries; Hacking Family (2022): 10°19.65'N 123°58.30'E in 27 ft (8 m) mud, 4G on Globe and Smart. Holding good in mud on either side of the club; room for 10-15 boats (Noonsite). The north side has club moorings that are 'very light' - one cruiser dragged one with a touch of reverse - inspect before trusting; the north side is watched by shore security, while there are older theft warnings for the south side. Strong current and tidal flow in the channel; the rectangular area just west of the club is a ferry landing - anchor clear or the ferry will honk. Shallows extend NE of Mactan a fair way on the northern approach. Dinghy dock fee about 200 PHP per day (2013-2022 reports, verify locally). Since late 2024 cruisers report the club requiring a Bureau of Quarantine visit before landing a dinghy even for boats already cleared into the country elsewhere (one 2024 quote 6,000 PHP per port) - a retired Coast Guard officer says domestic re-inspection is not legally required, so ask questions politely. Robinsons mall (good supermarket) is a walk outside the gate.

Best for

Cheap, central anchoring for provisioning, repairs and crew changes
