Porter Marina and Boatyard (Calero)

10° 21.4′ N · 124° 0.0′ E

A small aluminium boatbuilder and yard in Barangay Calero at the northern mouth of the Mactan Channel, across the water from the yacht club - one of the few places near Cebu City that can slip a yacht.

Practical

Coordinates are Porter Marina in OpenStreetMap (Barangay Calero, Liloan). In 2008 they built a custom cradle and slipped a cruising yacht by tractor with divers placing the wedges; Noonsite calls it a small haul-out facility that is hard to contact (office 032 232 2185, older listing). Services listed: outboard servicing, fibreglass repair, painting, upholstery, aluminium fabrication. Most cruisers go to Port Carmen instead; for travel-lift haul-outs the nearest options are Subic or Kudat (Malaysia). Sail the Philippines describes Porter's Marina as offering alongside berths on a concrete wall with rudimentary amenities, maintenance allowed but haul-out only for small craft, and frequently full - book ahead. Its main draw is the short trip to Cebu City and the airport. Of the Metro Cebu options, the Cebu Yacht Club (small, Med-moored, third-party liability insurance required) and Port Carmen (Zeke's and Pepe's yards, about 20 nm north) are the alternatives.
