Bulalacao Island Anchorage

11° 45.7′ N · 120° 8.3′ E

A small, fairly deep bay on Bulalacao Island in the southern Calamianes, beside the banana-shaped Dicalabuan islet, with a family-run beach, kayaks and reef-edge snorkelling.

Practical

Hackingfamily (Feb 2020): 11 45.71N 120 08.27E in 57 ft (17 m) sand; check you are not on coral. The reef extends a long way south of the headland on approach. The gap between tiny Dicalubuan (Banana) Island and Bulalacao is about 30 m wide and was marked by floating white blocks in 2020. Very well protected from north and east winds, exposed to SW and W. Beach to the north is private; a family runs the south side selling cold drinks and renting kayaks. Lots of tour boats by day; a resort on the northern sand spit may charge entrance. Cell: Globe 3G, Smart 4G.
