Banana Island

11° 46.2′ N · 120° 7.6′ E

Officially Dicalabuan Island, named for its banana shape from afar: fine white sand, a sandbar that covers at high tide, giant clams on the reef and simple overnight cottages.

Practical

Lakwatsero: privately owned by the Gallego family; day fee PHP 150 and basic fan cottages around PHP 1,000 (older figures; verify locally); generator power only; about two hours by boat from Coron. Wikivoyage: numerous giant clams; often combined with Malcapuya and Bulog on tours. Mapped in OpenStreetMap as Dicalubuan Island beside Bulalacao Island; the narrow gap between them is about 30 m (Hackingfamily). Use the Bulalacao Island Anchorage and dinghy over.

Best for

Giant clams and a quiet overnight beach
