Santa Bárbara Islets Snorkel (Morro Los Tecomates)
26° 42.6′ N · 111° 52.7′ W · approximate
The islets and rocky shoals around Morro Los Tecomates and Isla Guapa off Playa Santa Bárbara — a quiet corner of the bay for snorkelling, well away from Highway 1 noise.
Practical
Coordinate is the centroid of the Morro Los Tecomates islet in OpenStreetMap (Isla Guapa is at about 26.7208, -111.8664). The Online Cruising Guide tags Playa Santa Bárbara for snorkelling. Shoal water surrounds Tecomate and strings out to its west, and a sandy reef covers much of the bay's west side — hard to see in afternoon light. First-time visitors should come in from outside the islands, south of Isla Guapa, and pass between the eastern peninsula and Tecomate. Anchor in 25–30 ft, about two-thirds of the way off the beach; well sheltered in strong S–E breezes.
