Bahía Concepción's flat, clear water and maze of islets — Pitahaya, Guapa, Tecomate, Requesón — make it the best kayak and SUP ground in the northern Gulf.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate, centred on the north-central cove cluster (El Burro/Coyote). Kayak and sail rentals operate on Playa El Burro; Requesón's sand spit and shallow coves are ideal for SUP. Paddle early: afternoon winds can go from calm to 20 kn with whitecaps. Mind the bugs in mangrove fringes. Any shellfish or fish harvesting requires a Mexican fishing licence.
