El Burro Petroglyph Trail
26° 43.7′ N · 111° 54.6′ W · approximate
A desert trail climbing into the hills behind El Burro, with petroglyphs reported near its base and wide views back over the coves.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: trailhead is across Highway 1 from the El Burro turnoff (derived from the OSM positions of the beach and JC's). One cruiser crew did not find the petroglyphs and met a non-aggressive red diamond rattlesnake — wear closed shoes, carry water, go early morning before the heat.
