Punta Lupona (Espíritu Santo South Tip)
24° 24.2′ N · 110° 19.6′ W
The southern tip of Isla Espíritu Santo, marking the northern side of the Canal de San Lorenzo - the corner every boat bound for Bonanza or the east-side bays rounds.
Practical
Position: OpenStreetMap node 'Punta Lupona' (natural=cape). The Log describes the San Lorenzo Channel as running midway between the La Paz peninsula and 'the shoaly south end of Isla Espiritu Santo'; the Bahía Bonanza entry notes shoals both north and south of the channel's pinch point, with a green buoy on the south side and a red one less often on the north - stay in the marked channel and do not cut the corner at Lupona. The CONANP zoning map places Las Navajas and La Dispensa along the coast to the west.
