Manzanillo Port of Entry
19° 3.6′ N · 104° 18.2′ W
Manzanillo, Mexico's busiest container port, is an official port of entry for yachts on the Costalegre, with the Capitanía de Puerto, immigration and customs downtown near the harbor.
Practical
Position: the Capitanía de Puerto Manzanillo office in the downtown port area (OpenStreetMap). Customs and immigration are in Manzanillo; boats in Barra de Navidad start with the Barra port captain and travel to Manzanillo for immigration (Noonsite 2019). The Las Hadas harbor master cannot clear boats (2017). The commercial container port is off limits to yachts: anchor at Las Hadas or Santiago and go by bus or taxi. Taxis anywhere in Manzanillo were about 35 pesos or less in an older report (agree on the price first). See the Mexico area file for the full clearance sequence (immigration, customs, port captain, FMM).
