Isla de Venados Snorkel
23° 14.0′ N · 106° 27.8′ W · approximate
Deer Island is the largest of the three islands off Mazatlán's hotel zone, with a small beach, clear rocky reefs and a hill to scramble. It's the classic day trip from the marinas.
Practical
Day-tour boats from Marina El Cid (the trimaran Kolonahe) run daily from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tours include snorkel gear, kayaks and the beach, at USD 90 per adult (marina website, 2026). With your own boat, Venados is about 2 nm south of the Sábalo channel entrance. Anchor off the lee shore in settled weather only, because the island is exposed to the open Pacific. Keep clear of the rocky shoreline and the tour boats around midday. Coordinate is derived from the OpenStreetMap island outline, just off its east (city-facing) shore, and is not a surveyed anchorage.

Easy reef snorkel and beach day from the marinas
