Bahía Salinas Beach (Isla Carmen)
25° 59.9′ N · 111° 6.7′ W · approximate
A long white beach at Isla Carmen's north-east bay where crews run their dinghies ashore to walk to the salt-works ghost town, the little chapel and the hunting lodge.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: the nearest OpenStreetMap coastline point to the Bahía Salinas anchorage, at the head of the bay. The CCA's 2024 fleet landed here by dinghy to 'explore the Salt Mine there and to visit the small church and hunting lodge'. The 8.7 km La Salina loop crosses the salt flats but needs prior authorization—Carmen is the only privately owned island in the park. No services, no shade; bring water. CONANP protected-area fee applies: a Loreto Bay National Park day pass (bracelet) was MX$215 per person in 2025, and the annual Conservation Passport (MX$3,620 in 2025) covers every federal protected area; buy online at descubreanp.conanp.gob.mx or from the rangers at La Dársena in Loreto, and carry proof aboard.
