Practical

Coordinate is approximate, just south of Isla Alcatraz (OpenStreetMap 28.8123 N, 111.9675 W). Wikipedia describes an open anchorage south of Isla Alcatraz; no depth or holding data in the sources — sound in. There are no harbour or port facilities other than the Port Captain's office; fishing pangas work from the beach SW of town. Public boat ramps at Laguna La Cruz (SE of town) and Playa Estela (6 mi NW). Provisions, fuel stations and hardware stores in Kino Viejo. The Log's Midriff-crossing guide: anchor off the south side of uninhabited Pelican Island (Isla Alcatraz); New Kino, where most retirees live, is about 3 nm NW and Old Kino about 1.3 nm east. Kino has grocery stores, clinics and a Pemex (fuel by jerry can), and the Seri Museum; Seri guides lead trips to Tiburón trails and the Canal del Infiernillo. It is about 19 miles from Tiburón's south end via Monument Pass north of Isla Turner (daylight transit only).
