Agua Verde Reef Dives (Horn Sharks)
25° 31.5′ N · 111° 4.3′ W · approximate
The rocky reefs inside Agua Verde bay, where a cruising diver met several Mexican horn sharks on two dives and a whale shark the year before.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: the reef edge between the north anchorage and Punta el Puerto (OpenStreetMap cape 25.53077, -111.06923), checked in-water against the OpenStreetMap coastline; BlueJacket's 2012 log does not name the exact dive sites, so treat this as a general area. Shore or dinghy dives from the anchorage; water was about 70°F at the surface and much colder at depth in April. No dive shop or air fills—bring your own compressor or full tanks from Loreto.
Best for
Self-guided reef dives from the anchorage
Season
Calm weather; best visibility late spring to autumn
