Agua Verde North Anchorage

25° 31.3′ N · 111° 4.4′ W

The small, well-protected north lobe of Agua Verde bay, off the beach below the trail to the petroglyph cave.

Practical

Coordinate is the yacht BlueJacket's logged position at Agua Verde (25°31.265'N, 111°04.427'W, April 2012), where she anchored near the beach at the north end in about 20 ft with a stern anchor run toward shore to keep her bow into the swell; checked in-water against the OpenStreetMap coastline. Club Cruceros: the north side is well protected but relatively small and gets deep quickly. Agua Verde has three anchoring areas within a dinghy ride of each other (Cruising Club of America, 2024); the larger south anchorage off the village beach can be rough in a strong norther. The petroglyph-cave hike starts here. Not inside Loreto Bay National Park.

Best for

The most sheltered spot in Agua Verde and the cave hike
