Sunken Rock
17° 0.0′ N · 61° 44.3′ W · approximate
Antigua's only true wall dive: a rock pinnacle just awash off the south-east coast, with a vertical drop from about 6 ft to 80 ft and beyond, gorgonian-covered walls, a cleft to swim through and regular Caribbean reef sharks.
Practical
Pin is approximate: no published coordinate; it is placed just off the mouth of Indian Creek (OSM bay node) because DiveCarib says the site lies close to Indian Creek and Mamora Bay, and Dockyard Divers described it as a pinnacle just awash. Depth 6-80 ft+ (DiveCarib); Dockyard Divers quoted a trail through a split in the rock to 120 ft. About 30 minutes by dive boat from Falmouth, the farthest windward site DiveCarib visits; there is a mooring, but because the site is exposed it is usually dived as a drift. For certified divers confident on drift dives. Ocean triggerfish, barracuda, stingrays and occasionally dolphins. As a navigation hazard: a rock awash off this coast is reason to stay well offshore when passing between English Harbour and Mamora Bay.
Best for
An advanced drift and wall dive with reef sharks
