Salt Pond (Barbuda)
17° 33.5′ N · 61° 45.1′ W
A salt flat behind Gravenor Bay where Barbudans have hand-raked naturally formed sea salt for generations. In very dry spells it sparkles with slightly pink crystals.
Practical
Coordinate verified from Wikipedia. Walk up from Gravenor Bay or Spanish Point. The salt forms only after several weeks of very dry weather. It is a cultural resource, so do not harvest it yourself. Barbuda sea salt is sold as a souvenir at the ArtCafe and Harty's Pharmacy when available.
Best for
A short walk from Gravenor Bay and a souvenir to buy
