Princess Diana Beach
17° 33.2′ N · 61° 46.1′ W
Barbuda's most famous strand, also called Access Beach or Coco Point Beach: 3 km of powdery white sand that turns periodically pink, with calm, gin-clear water on the leeward side of Coco Point. Diana holidayed here often, and it was renamed for her in 2011.
Practical
Coordinate verified from Wikipedia. Anchor at Cocoa Point Anchorage and land by dinghy; expect a wet landing (2024 report). All beaches in Antigua & Barbuda are public up to the high-water line. The Barbuda Ocean Club (PLH) development is fenced behind much of this coast, so stay on the foreshore. Shak-A-Kai serves grilled lobster on the beach, and Nobu Barbuda (lunch, about 12pm-6pm in season) is also here. There is little shade away from the restaurants. Calm water on the west side; the Gravenor side east of the point is wilder. Used for kiting, and visibility drops when swell is running.
Best for
Swimming, beach walks and lobster lunches
