Maiden Island Anchorage (North Sound)
17° 8.6′ N · 61° 45.9′ W · approximate
A pleasant anchorage under the arm of Maiden Island, midway along the channel into Parham Harbour; the island is known as a shell-collector's dream.
Practical
Pin is placed just south of the island (OSM) and checked to be in water. Stay clear of the marked channel (AMG, ABYMA). Winthorpes Bay to the west is not suitable for anchoring except close to Maiden Island (AMG). The island's leeward coast has an artificial fringing reef project, and the island was privatized for development (NEMMA plan, 2007): respect private land.
