Jumby Bay Anchorage (Long Island)

17° 9.2′ N · 61° 45.8′ W · approximate

The only anchorage at Long Island, the private 300-acre island of the Jumby Bay resort just north-west of North Sound: sand bottom, clear water and a five-star restaurant that takes outside bookings.

Practical

Pin is placed off the island's south-west shore near the Jumby Bay ferry pier (OSM) and checked to be in water. Sandy bottom shoaling toward shore; up to about 100 ft from shore there is room for a boat drawing 8 ft (AMG, ABYMA). The resort and island are private (guests only), but the restaurant takes reservations (ABYMA: call Jumby Bay on VHF 68 for lunch). No cars on the island. Ferries run from the mainland; watch for them.
