Lower Town Dinghy Dock, Showers & Water (Statia)

17° 28.6′ N · 62° 59.2′ W · approximate

Statia's only practical landing: a concrete dinghy dock at the commercial pier, with Marine Park showers up the road and drinking water from the dive centre next door.

Practical

Approximate: placed at the pier root in Gallows Bay from the OpenStreetMap 'Gallows Baai' label; follow the harbour layout on arrival. Noonsite (June 2025): swell can make the dock difficult and a northerly makes it impossible - always use a stern anchor. Dinghies may tuck inside the main pier but must not be locked, as the Harbour Master needs to move them for ferries and workboats. Toilets and showers at the Marine Park (STENAPA) office just up the road, officially Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm, though cruisers report closer to 9:30am-3:30pm. Golden Rock Dive Center, a few steps from the dock, can supply water (discounted if you dive with them). A restaurant is next to the dock. For check-in, Noonsite (2022 comment) says tie at the dinghy section on the northeast side of the dock, visit the guard house; Customs and Immigration are opposite.
