Every year Antigua & Barbuda close the spiny-lobster fishery for spawning, so Barbuda's famous beach lobster disappears from menus, and parrotfish is protected for even longer.

Coordinate approx: Codrington Fishery Complex (OpenStreetMap). The Fisheries Division's 2026 notice gives spiny lobster 1 May-30 June and parrotfish (chub) 1 May-31 July. Catching, selling, buying or possessing them in season is illegal, with fines up to EC$50,000. On Barbuda, parrotfish may not be caught or sold at any time. Plan lobster dinners for July-April.
