Codrington Lagoon Fisheries Wharf

17° 38.5′ N · 61° 49.7′ W

The village waterfront on the lagoon, with piers, the Fisheries complex, a ferry/water-taxi landing and public toilets. Frigatebird tours start here and fishing boats land the day's catch.

Practical

Coordinate verified: OpenStreetMap pier (way 657526901) at the end of Lagoon Drive beside the Fishery Complex and public toilets. Pay the US$5 Council sanctuary fee here before a frigatebird tour (Barbudaful; verify locally). Fishing boats come in at varying times, often around 2-4pm on good-weather days, which is the time to buy fish or lobster straight from the boat in season. Bagged ice is sold at the Fisheries building: cheaper, in bulk, and good for cool boxes rather than drinks. Tanks can be filled at the Fisheries building, according to Barbudaful. Noonsite does not recommend bringing a yacht's dinghy here from Low Bay because of the surf at the cut: use a water taxi. Water taxis and guides meet clients here by arrangement.

Best for

Water taxis, frigatebird tours, fresh fish and ice
