Little Bay Cliff Path (Pelican Trail)

18° 13.7′ N · 63° 4.0′ W · approximate

A stairway of more than 400 steps down about 200 feet of cliff to the water near Little Bay, with a sweeping view over Crocus, Katouche and Little Bays and out to Sandy Island, Prickly Pear and Dog Island. Little Bay itself has no road access, so this and the sea are the only ways down.

Practical

Coordinate approx: cliff top just east of Little Bay (OpenStreetMap bay way 229942315), offset onto land; the access is off Roache's Hill Road across a field east of a large white house. The trail was built with rest decks and a concrete swim platform at the bottom, but the source says it was temporarily closed, with reopening planned for the 2015/2016 season: confirm it is open before going. The Anguilla National Trust also runs a guided 'Little Bay Circuit' hike (caves, forest, beach, limestone cliffs) and a Crocus Bay to Little Bay guided snorkel along the cliffs with a near-certain turtle or stingray and an optional jump from the Little Bay rock (2016 listing, verify locally). By boat: no anchoring in Little Bay; use the marine-park day moorings with the cruising permit.
