Crocus Bay Anchorage
18° 13.2′ N · 63° 4.3′ W · approximate
A cliff-ringed bay one headland east of Road Bay, with a beach, a restaurant (da'Vida) and snorkelling under the cliffs. Older cruiser reports name it as the only overnight alternative to Road Bay.
Practical
Coordinate approx: in the bay off Crocus Bay beach (OpenStreetMap beach way 200860029), south of Pelican Point. Sand bottom; check the depth on your chart. Cliffs make gusts and small wind shifts, so it is best in settled trades. Exposed to northerly swell. Requires the cruising permit. 2016 and 2019 reports say overnight stays are allowed here as well as in Road Bay; a day permit runs to midnight, so an overnight costs two days. The local agent AXA lists it as a day-and-overnight anchorage. A 2010s visitor took the dinghy to a secluded beach below the cliffs to snorkel.
